Position: Registered Nurse

Department: 3A Medicine, Inpatient Medicine Program

Role Level: Clinical Patient Services (CPS04.2) - $39.07- $56.00 per hour

Status: Permanent Full Time x2

Site: Mississauga Hospital

Shift: 12-hour shifts, Day/Night rotation, weekends and statutory holidays

Job Description

The Inpatient Medicine & ICU Program at THP consists of over 350 beds across CVH & MH, staffed by large interprofessional teams supporting complex medicine patients within the Mississauga-Halton LHIN. Our units offer first-rate care in an innovative environment, addressing physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs. We are committed to a diverse workforce reflecting our community.

Reporting to a Clinical Manager, the ideal candidate will focus on delivering excellent patient-centered care in a dynamic environment, with opportunities to provide care with compassion, excellence, and courage.

Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of a recognized nursing college or school
  • Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or eligible for registration
  • Able to practice to the full scope as per CNO
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • If working with telemetry, certification within six months of hire
  • Knowledge and experience in IV therapy, medication administration, blood products, patient-controlled analgesia, enteral feeds, TPN, blood transfusions, CVADs, blood glucose monitoring, nasogastric tubes, wound management, infection control, blood values, oxygen therapy, tracheostomies, chest tubes
  • Computer skills including email and Microsoft Office
  • Satisfactory attendance and performance record
Preferred Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred
  • Minimum two years of acute care medical/surgical experience
  • Physical assessment course completion
  • Experience with acute care medicine populations, telemetry, geriatrics
  • Experience in patient and family education
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to patient and family-centered care
  • Ongoing professional development
  • Knowledge of Meditech and Sunrise systems
