The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr.

Our long-term care facilities at PHC

Providence Health Care operates six Long-term Care Homes and one Assisted Living Care Home for seniors, providing 24-hour nursing care and a broad range of medical and personal assistance to support social / leisure needs and activities of daily living. The homes are located throughout the lower mainland with staff working 8-hour shifts.

  • St. Vincent’s: Brock Fahrni at 4650 Oak Street, Vancouver, BC
  • St. Vincent’s: Langara at 255 W62nd Ave, Vancouver, BC
  • Youville Residence at 4950 Heather St, Vancouver, BC
  • Holy Family Hospital at 7801 Argyle Dr, Vancouver, BC
  • Mount Saint Joseph Hospital at 3080 Prince Edward St, Vancouver, BC
  • Chenchenstway at 7550 Rosewood St, Burnaby, BC

As a Staff Nurse, you'll be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to ensure patients/residents receive comprehensive support. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing patients' physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating individualized care plans
  • Incorporating teaching into care plans to educate patients and families
  • Making referrals to resources as needed
  • Supporting fellow healthcare professionals
  • Operating within the framework of Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values
What You Bring

Education:

  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives

Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated competence in performing CPR procedures.
  • Experience in teamwork, decision-making, and conflict resolution
  • Demonstrated teaching aptitude
  • Proficient in clinical leadership

Your Day to Day:

  • Conduct thorough resident assessments through chart reviews, observations, interviews, and collaboration with peers
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate nursing care plans based on evidence-based practices, prioritizing resident needs
  • Adhere to established policies, procedures, and PHC standards while providing high-quality nursing care
  • Monitor resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed for optimal results
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, care plans, patient/resident status, and discharge plans using manual and computerized systems
  • Identify and address resident and family learning needs, providing education and referrals as necessary
  • Provide direction to staff, promote teamwork, and share clinical knowledge to enhance patient care
  • Support nursing research initiatives and contribute to the improvement of resident care policies and procedures
  • Advocate for residents' rights and dignity, facilitate discharge plans, and collaborate with families and community resources
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the healthcare team
