Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology (IGT)

Role Overview: Nurses in Interventional Radiology (IGT) require advanced skills and specialized knowledge of pediatric anatomy and physiology, focusing on the airway and respiratory system. The role involves managing patient care in a high-paced technological environment, from general care to critical care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans in collaboration with children and families.
  • Conduct health assessments for patients undergoing minimally invasive and diagnostic procedures.
  • Assist anesthesia staff with induction and airway management.
  • Support interventional procedures as circulating and scrub nurse.
  • Monitor patients under sedation and anesthesia.
  • Perform intravenous insertions and contrast administration.
  • Maintain clinical competence through continuous education.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an approved Baccalaureate Nursing Program.
  • Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
  • Experience in pediatrics or working with children is an asset.
  • Additional certifications like Intravenous Initiation are assets.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
Work Environment & Benefits:
  • Shifts Monday-Friday (8 hours) with on-call responsibilities every 2-3 months, with double pay for callbacks.
