Job summary

Primary Care Alberta is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join Health Link, Teletriage, delivering telephone triage and health information to Albertans. You will assess callers, apply clinical protocols, and provide evidence-based guidance with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.

In this role, you will work with diverse cases, utilizing your nursing expertise and strong communication skills to ensure safe, appropriate care and referrals, within a fast-paced call center

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

The Health Link Team has an opportunity for an energetic, passionate, and experienced Registered Nurse looking for a change in how care delivered where you will be utilizing your robust communication skills, extensive nursing knowledge and diverse work background. An essential part of this provincial health team, you will be responsible for providing telephone triage services, offering health advice and information to callers across Alberta. Utilizing the clinical software, diverse databases and clinical protocols, you will evaluate, triage and counsel patients dealing with diverse and often intricate concerns. Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of PCA.PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:

Additional Required Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three (3-5 years) years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical setting, including experience in a variety of clinical areas that require high levels of independent and advanced assessment skills, strong critical thinking and excellent probing skills to extract pertinent information to support clinical decisions. They will also require recent experience working with diverse client populations and clinical issues including emergency, pediatrics, maternal/child, medical/ surgical and critical care. They will also have the ability to successfully deal with stress in a high call volume contact center and in addition, they will be able to work comfortably with a variety of computer databases. A minimum typing speed of 35 WPM is a must. Intermediate computer skills are also a requirement for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

A Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing is preferred. Experience interacting with clients over the telephone is also preferred.
