The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manager of the Garron Centre for Child & Adolescent Mental Health, the RN is responsible for assessment and treatment planning for acutely ill patients under 19 with psychiatric disorders, including eating disorders, mood disturbances, psychosis, anxiety, and emotional dysregulation. The RN plays a key role in assessment, safety, calming agitation, and maintaining a therapeutic milieu. Training in psychiatric assessments with EMHAS and charge nurse/preceptor roles will be provided after experience on the unit. The unit is the only dedicated psychiatric inpatient unit for children and adolescents in the province, with a multidisciplinary team.
Hours of Work
11.25-hour shifts on a full rotational schedule (days, evenings, nights, weekends).
