Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH) in Midland, Ontario, seeks a Registered Nurse to lead within the patient care team. The RN will assess and treat patients with complex conditions, delivering care across preventive, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative modalities to achieve optimal function.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential to support families and the interprofessional team. The ideal candidate brings 2+ years of Emergency/Acute care experience, current Ontario RN

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Registered Nurse at GBGH provides a leadership role within the patient care team and provides care in situations in which the patient's condition is complex and the patient care outcomes are not predictable. Within the scope of practice, as the Registered Nurse you will promote health, assess and provide care and treatment by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to attain or maintain optimal function for the patient.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate will possess the following key competencies, record of experience and academic preparation:

• Current certificate of registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario required
• Must be compliant with College of Nurses quality assurance standards
• Current B.C.L.S Certification essential, on hire required
• Minimum 2 years current Emergency/Acute care related nursing required
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (A.C.L.S.) required
• Current Advanced Pediatric Life Support (P.A.L.S) required
• Participation in the RNAO and or ENAO (Emergency nurses association of Ontario) preferred
• Current Trauma Nursing Critical Care Core Course (T.N.C.C.) preferred
• Coronary Care – Level 1 preferred
• Coronary Care – Level 2 preferred
• NVCI or equivalent preferred
• Canadian Triage & Acuity Scale Certification (CTAS) an asset
• Emergency Certificate an asset
• Mechanical Ventilation an asset
• Computerized documentation (Meditech Expanse) an asset
• Demonstrated competencies in arrhythmia interpretation
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using both oral and written format with patients, families, colleagues and the interprofessional team
• Demonstrated experience working independently and within a team setting
• Demonstrated excellent problem-solving ability, critical thinking and organizational skills
• Commitment to professional growth and development of self and others
• Excellent clinical, decision making and critical thinking skills

COMPENSATION

• Hourly rate of pay $41.15 - $58.98, up to an additional 14% in lieu of benefits and 6% in lieu of vacation to start

HOURS OF WORK

Temporary Full Time. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the ONA collective agreement.
