Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. You will provide primary care for Emergency/Trauma patients, performing assessment, interventions, education and patient advocacy alongside the multidisciplinary team.

The role requires current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses, ACLS, and recent ER experience; Baccalaureate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current B.C.L.S. (Basic Cardiac Life Support).
• ACLS Certification and/or Basic Arrhythmia Course preferred.
• ER experience: 2 years preferred or equivalent.
• TNCC and ENPC preferred.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuing education in Emergency care.

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department works in collaboration with the entire health care team, the patient and family. Responsible for primary care of Emergency/Trauma patients, the main functions of the RN include, but are not limited to: assessment, intervention, education and patient advocacy. The RN supports the Philosophy of Person-Focused Care concept and principles and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook. The RN works closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
