Job summary

Brightshores Health System in Markdale, Ontario is seeking a Registered Nurse for our Emergency Department. You will promote health, assess and treat patients, and provide care across preventive, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative needs.

The role requires current Ontario RN registration, ability to interpret arrhythmias, and willingness to work all shifts. You may be assigned to Medical/Surgical units as needed, with leadership and teamwork expectations and ongoing professional

Qualifications

• Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario or eligibility.
• Ability and willingness to interpret basic arrhythmias.
• Ability and willingness to work on Medical/Surgical Unit as required.
• Certification or willingness to obtain: ACLS, PALS, BCLS, CTAS, Delegated medical acts.
• Leadership, problem solving, decision-making and critical thinking skills.
• Assessment and interviewing skills.
• Ability to escort patients via ambulance services when required.
• Flex time to meet unit needs and staffing.
• Team oriented with commitment to continuous quality improvement.
• Ability to work all shifts and maintain patient safety.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Adherence to Brightshores CARE and LEAD competencies; safe workplace.

Responsibilities

• Promote health and assess, treat and care for ED patients.
• Coordinate care across preventive, therapeutic, palliative, and rehabilitative needs.
• Escort patients via ambulance services when required.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and participate in quality improvement.
• Engage in staff meetings and unit projects and ongoing professional development.

WAGE RATE: $41.15 - $58.98

Reporting to the site Manager, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the promotion of health and the assessment of, the provision of care of, and the treatment of health conditions by supportive, preventative, therapeutic, palliative and rehabilitative means to patients in order to attain or maintain optimal function.

Preferred

• Emergency Nursing Certificate
• Physical Assessment Course
• TNCC or equivalent
• Recent Medical/Surgical/PACU/Day Surgery/Critical Care experience
• Two years recent Emergency experience
• NRP
