Job summary

Alberta Health Services in Grande Prairie is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency department at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital. Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour; upon full approval, pay aligns with UNA agreements.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
• Strong Critical Thinking skills.
• ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP, CTAS, recent emergency experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations.
• Utilize nursing processes with critical thinking, problem solving and decision making.
• Teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.

The GPRH Emergency Department consists of a 4 Trauma bays, 7 treatment stretchers, 11 cardiac monitored stretchers and 1 seclusion room. Our team provides exemplary emergency room care for patients in a collaborative, interdisciplinary team environment. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will play an important role in supporting and integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will contribute your nursing assessment, interpersonal and written documentation skills to assist with the treatment of trauma-associated injury. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.
