We are currently seeking a full-time, temporary (9 months) Registered Nurse for the Complex Care and Program on the Downtown Central ACT Team. As part of a community-based interprofessional team, you will provide client-centered psychiatric and general nursing care, adhering to CNO standards. You will collaborate with clients, their supports, and the team to support clients' integration into their communities. Your responsibilities include performing assessments, developing and evaluating service plans for clients with schizophrenia and concurrent disorders, coordinating care with inpatient teams, and referring clients to appropriate services. You will work with diverse populations, contribute to program development, provide education and supervision, and participate in research activities.
Your skills should include behavioral observations, mental status assessments, monitoring responses to interventions, documentation, and communication. Knowledge of emergency psychiatry, crisis intervention, addiction issues, and severe mental illness is essential. This position is located at the College Street Site (250 College Ave – 7th Floor).
The ideal candidate must be a registered member of the College of Nurses of Ontario with a current B.C.L.S. (CPR), have at least two years of psychiatric/mental health nursing experience, and possess excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, decision-making, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preference will be given to those with community nursing experience and an understanding of Recovery principles. Bilingualism or proficiency in a second language is an asset.
