Job Summary

This position involves providing professional nursing care, including administration of biologics or specialty pharmaceuticals, health reviews, and collaboration with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. The goal is to deliver medical therapies or self-administration teaching in an ambulatory setting.

The nurse applies critical thinking, therapeutic communication, and clinical decision-making skills to assess, plan, implement, educate, and evaluate patients’ health during treatment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess patient health status and eligibility for medical therapies.
  • Insert peripheral IVs or establish access via central lines using sterile techniques.
  • Review patient files and prior records to understand medical history.
  • Handle and reconstitute biologic or oncology medications per guidelines.
  • Follow standards and guidelines for medication administration.
  • Educate and counsel patients on their care and medications.
  • Document care services and manage records per policies.
  • Monitor medical therapies and observe post-administration effects.
  • Maintain knowledge of medical therapies and institutional policies.
  • Participate in audits and training programs.
  • Ensure safety, infection control, and quality standards.
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of relevant nursing experience or equivalent.
  • RN licensure with the College of Nurses of Saskatchewan, in good standing.
Key Competencies
  • Infusion certification or equivalent experience.
  • CPR certification; ACLS an asset.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in emergency situations.
  • Excellent assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and electronic records.
Compensation & Benefits

Starting wage at $45.43/hour plus premiums and incentives. The pay range for this role is $31.33 - $52.21, aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy. Benefits include performance-based rewards, bonuses, and long-term incentives. For details, please refer to our benefits page.
