Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Markham, Ontario is seeking an Registered Nurse to supervise day-to-day staff in the unit and coordinate resident care with an interdisciplinary team. You will communicate with families to ensure resident-centered care aligns with policies and standards.

The role requires current CNO registration, CPR, and strong leadership. Experience supervising staff and a willingness to participate in ongoing development are assets in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Experience in nursing and staff supervision an asset.
• Current CPR Certificate.

• Superb customer service skills.
• Computer literacy.

Job description

Performs the functions of Registered Nurse in compliance with the standards of practice for Registered Nurse developed by the College of Nurses (CNO) and provides high quality nursing service that reflects the organization's resident centred approach, vision and policies. As a Unit Nurse, the Registered Nurse is responsible for day to day supervision of staff in the unit and coordination of resident care with interdisciplinary team members as well as communications with families.

Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Experience in nursing and staff supervision an asset
• Current CPR Certificate
• Good leadership skills
• Demonstrated initiative, problem solving and judgement skills
• Superb customer service skills

Physical Demands/Working Condition:

Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending. Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact.

Shift work, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Salary Range:

$35.39 - $50.85
