The Opportunity:

The Registered Nurse (RN), reporting to the Director of Care, is responsible for providing direct resident care, medication administration, and documenting care in compliance with regulatory standards, as well as Resident Health and Wellness policies and procedures.

What You Will Do:

  1. Complete and ensure residents’ care assessments, service plans, and documentation are up to date; communicate changes to the Director of Care for billing purposes.
  2. Assist with scheduling and participate in residents’ care conferences.
  3. Work closely with the Director of Care to facilitate residents’ move-ins and transfers.
  4. Order, safeguard, and administer drugs and narcotics in compliance with all regulatory requirements and policies.
  5. Facilitate and provide education to residents and families.
  6. Supervise resident self-medication assessments and audits.
  7. Supervise and delegate care and medication responsibilities to Unregulated Care Providers, in accordance with regulations and policies.
  8. Plan, coordinate, manage, and evaluate the resident’s care plan in collaboration with residents, substitute decision makers, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams.
  9. Coordinate nursing team’s resident care assignments to ensure efficient and timely service delivery.

What You Will Need:

  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse in the applicable Province/State.
  • Experience working with seniors and unregulated care providers.
  • Education and experience in gerontology, rehabilitation, community/complex/long-term care are assets.
  • Strong written and oral communication, critical thinking, care coordination, time management, and customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated sound clinical knowledge and ability to delegate to unregulated care providers.
  • Maintain competencies as per governing College standards.
  • Proficiency in computer use and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS).

Wage Leveling Salary: $41.42 - $55.91 per hour. Salary placement based on qualifications and experience.
