Our Cardiology clinic provides assessments, diagnosis and management of conditions for patients with heart problems.

The Registered Nurse will coordinate and provide care within the cardiology clinic and work collaboratively with the Physicians, Clinical Program multidisciplinary team members, and Cardio-Diagnostic areas to advance Cardiology Services based on the program strategic priorities, goals and objectives. The Registered Nurse in the Cardiology Clinic will provide care during cardiac diagnostic procedures including Transespohagel Echos and Dobutamine Echos.

Employment Status: Permanent Part TimeHours of Work: Monday- Friday. Eight hour Shifts.Location: Humber River Health, Wilson SiteLabour Group: ONAReporting Relationship: Manager, Cardio-DiagnosticsHourly Rate: $39.07 - $56.00

Position Responsibilities:

  • Performs advanced nursing activities, which can include assisting with procedures using conscious sedation, placement of IV's.
  • Care for patients during cardiac diagnostic procedures and post-recovery monitoring.
  • Care planning and coordination of care with various team members embracing patient centered care.
  • Utilization of computerized systems for documentation of patient care.
  • Participation in project teams or Hospital committees as required.
  • Participation in creating, revising and collaborating with key stakeholders on policy, procedures and guidelines.
  • Development of patient centered education materials (as applicable to the role).

Qualifications:

  • Current RN registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
  • Current BCLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Critical Care Certificate preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in critical care with hemodynamic monitoring and conscious sedation.
  • Demonstrated good patient assessment skills.
  • Demonstrated working philosophy of client focused care.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to effectively deal with a variety of staff, physicians, and a diverse ethno-cultural patient population.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Good problem solving skills required.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline free record required.
