Job summary

Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto, ON, is seeking a Cardiology Registered Nurse to join our coordinated care team. The RN will support care and discharge planning, lead with evidence-based practice, and collaborate with physicians, technicians, and unit staff to deliver high-quality patient- and family-centered care.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of critical care experience, recent Cardiac Catheterization Lab exposure, and current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario,

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years critical care experience.
• Minimum 2 years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab preferred.
• Knowledge of principles of hemodynamic monitoring.
• Ability to demonstrate excellence in Clinical Critical Care Practice.
• Affiliation with professional organization an asset.
• Good work and attendance record; PPE and safety adherence required.

Responsibilities

• Lead care and discharge planning for Cardiology patients.
• Collaborate with the health care team to deliver high-level care.
• Apply clinical knowledge to monitor and interpret patient data.
• Ensure safety and quality through adherence to OH&S and hospital policies.

Job description

Registered Nurses (RN) are accountable to the professional standards of nursing practice from the College of Nurses of Ontario. Cardiology RNs possess a defined body of advanced research-based knowledge, specialized clinical skills, procedural skills and professional collaboration which is directed at comprehensive, effective patient and family centered care. Cardiology RNs integrate leadership competencies within the coordinated care team. RNs play a pivotal role in care and discharge planning, coordination, collaboration and delivery of high level functioning of the health care team. RNs apply their clinical knowledge and leadership skills to collect and interpret information, make appropriate nursing clinical decisions and carry out competent therapeutic nursing interventions.

EDUCATION

• Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Registration issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• CNA (Critical Care) is preferred.
• Coronary care 1 & 2 required.
• Current BCLS\ACLS required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years critical care experience required.

• Previous OR experience an asset.

• Abilityto physically perform duties while wearing required workplace safety gear.
