A leading healthcare facility in Toronto is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Cardiac Cath Lab team. The role involves patient assessment, assisting in diagnostic procedures, and ensuring patient advocacy. The ideal candidate will have relevant certifications and experience in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating effective communication and critical thinking skills.
The main functions of the RN include, but are not limited to: patient assessment, intervention, education, and patient advocacy. The RN sets up and assists with Diagnostic and Interventional procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab, including but not limited to Vascular and Coronary Angiography, Angioplasty, Stenting, IVUS, Rotablation, TAVI, MitraClip, and other procedures. Responsibilities also include the implantation of Pacemakers and Internal Cardiac Defibrillators, Electrophysiology Studies and Ablations, as well as scrub, circulate, and perform hemodynamic monitoring of patients. The RN uses Power Injector procedures in the Cath Lab, and is responsible for the preparation and recovery of patients in B3. The role requires regular wearing of lead aprons during shifts.
The RN supports the Philosophy of Patient-Centred Care and aligns with the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. The RN works closely with other members of the multi-professional team.
