Job summary

Canadian Blood Services is seeking a Regular part-time Donor Centre Nurse to join our Collections team at the ON-Scarborough donor centre. The role focuses on registration, screening, blood collection, and donor care to ensure safe, high-quality donor interactions.

You will apply phlebotomy skills, maintain accurate records, and contribute to a positive donor experience while supporting continuous improvement in processes and donor services.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited nursing program and current license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the province is required.
• 2 years of nursing experience is considered an asset; CPR/First Aid certifications are beneficial.
• Experience as a preceptor or coaching others is an asset.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook; ability to learn new systems and programs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional donor experience by conducting registration and confidential screening, ensuring eligibility and fostering trust.
• Educate and empower donors with clear information on blood donations and ways to support Canada’s Lifeline.
• Provide phlebotomy coaching and serve as team lead for collection events as needed.
• Perform venipuncture according to standards, monitor donor safety, and provide post-donation care.
