The Apotex Centre is Baycrest’s long-term care home. At Baycrest, we believe every older adult deserves care that honours who they are as an individual. Our care teams work closely with residents, families and caregivers to provide personalized support in a safe and compassionate environment.
Guided by our Jewish heritage, we are proud to offer our diverse community of residents care that helps each person live with meaning and dignity. Each floor has small, home-like spaces that make it easy to enjoy flexible schedules for meals, activities and personal care based on need and preference.
Apotex 3 is a mix of Physical support, Transitional Behavioural Support and Mental Health Units. The residents on these units need a specialized environment and a specialized care team to help manage their activities of daily living. This work area is an ideal setting for those wanting to understand ageing and the cognitive or mental health changes or major issues present in this population.
Apotex 4,5, 6 are a Cognitive Support Units. Residents residing on these floors are living with a wide range of cognitive and physical changes to their abilities - from mild to severe cognitive impairment and from ambulating independently, to being wheel-chair bound.
