Job summary

A regional health authority in Canada is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct nursing care to patients in both hospital and community settings. The ideal candidate must be registered with the BC College of Nurses and have recent experience in acute medical/surgical nursing, as well as complete a basic arrhythmia interpretation course. Qualifications

Education, Training And Experience

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Recent experience in acute medical/surgical nursing, and completion of a basic arrhythmia interpretation course, or an equivalent combination of education, skills and training.

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to organize assigned workload and set priorities.
• Demonstrated ability in arrhythmia interpretation as evidenced by successful completion of a VIHA Basic Arrhythmia course within the past year, or a mark of 75% on the VIHA ECG Challenge Exam.
• Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts, including co-workers, physicians, community agency representatives, patients, residents and families.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
