Job summary

SEOCHC in Ottawa is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our primary care team on a 13-month maternity leave contract. The RN will work as part of an inter-professional team that includes physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals.

The role provides direct patient care, supports care plans, documents in EMR, and participates in quality improvement. Fluency in English and French is preferred, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

  • Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience, preferably in community/primary health care.
  • Experience using a medical software program, preferably PSS.
  • Experience with culturally diverse populations (newcomers/refugees).
  • Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team.
  • Fluency in English and French preferred; other languages are assets.
  • Proficient with computers and electronic medical records.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, treatment, and education, under supervision of physician or NP.
  • Perform routine procedures, such as medications, immunizations, allergy shots, ear irrigation, dressing changes, and specimen collection.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and promptly in EMR.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and disease prevention.

Overview

Our Primary Care team is seeking a Registered Nurse to work in our clinic on a full-time basis for a 13-month term maternity leave contract. This Registered Nurse will act as a member of an inter-professional primary care team, which includes physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, administrative staff, and allied health professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including assessment, treatment, and education, under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner;

Qualifications

Salary

$39.72 - $46.73 per hour (commensurate with experience).
