Alberta Health Services at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for Medicine 4A7 on a temporary full-time basis (1.0 FTE). You will work in a fast-paced acute care environment alongside an interdisciplinary team, primarily evenings and weekends, with a unionized work setting under UNA.

Provisional permits pay $40.76 to $55.79 per hour, with pay adjusted to the standard RN rate upon obtaining full practice permit per UNA Article 25.02.

Description

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well‑being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program.

Additional Required Qualifications

• Current registration with CRNA.
• Demonstrated excellent communication skills.

• Assisted with patient flow coordination while working independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment able to work independently to support and improve patient flow throughout clinical operations.
• Willingness to work on multiple units as operationally required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Preference may be given to candidates whose recent experience, education, and qualifications most closely align with the operational needs of the unit and Medicine Program.
• Experience caring for patients with complex medical conditions and multiple co-morbidities preferred.
• Recent General Internal Medicine experience preferred.
• Minimum two (2) years recent acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Charge Nurse training preferred.
• Connect Care experience preferred.
