Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver comprehensive nursing care in the Drumheller community. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care, while educating and advocating for patients and families.

A leadership role supports an integrated approach to safe, high-quality, family-centered care in Health Promotion and maintenance. Provisional permits are paid at 40.76–55.79 CAD per hour; with full permits the rate aligns to UNA-approved scales.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with CRNA.
  • Current BCLS-HCP certification.
  • 2 or more years working in Home Care or Continuing Care.
  • Experience in Acute Care and Connect Care/assessment training preferred.

Job description

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities and populations, while taking necessary steps to ensure their safety and well-being. In your role, you will utilize nursing processes, through critical thinking, problem solving and decision making, as well as teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and their families. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion and maintenance. You will provide safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values.PLEASE NOTE: Provisional Permit holders will be paid $40.76 to $55.79 per hour. Upon obtaining a full practice permit, the rate of pay will be adjusted to the applicable Registered Nurse rate in accordance with UNA Article 25.02(b)(i) or (ii), as applicable.

Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Additional Required Qualifications:
  • 2 or more years working in Home Care or Continuing Care.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in Acute Care is considered an asset.Training for Home Care in Connect Care, lower leg assessments, VAC therapy, HPT, InterRAI HC and LTCF assessments, palliative experience, and case management level 1, 2 and 3 are strongly preferred.
