The Department of Neurophysiology at The Hospital for Sick Children is seeking a Registered Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join our team.

As a Neurodiagnostic Technologist, you'll play a key role in delivering safe, skilled, and compassionate care while performing advanced diagnostic testing procedures. You'll work closely with children and families in a collaborative clinical setting. Responsibilities
  • The Neurophysiology Technologist provides/ensures the competent and compassionate care of children (and their families) while performing procedures such as Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EP), Electromyography (EMG), and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) in the Neurophysiology Lab. Additional training may include all routine and advanced neurophysiological testing, such as epilepsy monitoring, invasive monitoring, cortical stimulation, functional mapping, and Magnetoencephalography (MEG).
  • This involves obtaining a current clinical neurological history, educating patients and families, preparing patients, performing procedures with specialized equipment, producing detailed reports, and consulting with healthcare professionals.
  • The Technologist is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment, troubleshooting, and participating in educational activities. Flexibility to work after hours, weekends, or evenings on an on-call basis is required.
Essential Requirements
  • Registered Technologist (R.E.T.) Certificate from CBRET, with proof included in your application.
  • Graduate from a recognized CBRET-approved Electrophysiology program.
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical neurophysiological experience.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective computer skills and commitment to continuing education.
  • Patient and family-centered care approach.
  • Understanding and demonstration of fostering Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
Assets
  • University background in sciences.
  • Membership with CAET or willingness to obtain within 6 months.
  • Current BCLS certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months.

Employment Details
  • Minimum 7.50 hours every two weeks.
