Position Overview

Under the direction of the Principal, the Early Childhood Educator collaborates with the classroom teacher to deliver high-quality, play-based education supporting the cognitive, emotional, and social development of Junior and Senior Kindergarten students. The role includes leading an extended program before and/or after school at designated elementary schools, working with the teacher on daily classroom activities.

Qualifications

• Completion of a two-year community college program in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
• Registration and good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
• At least one year of child care experience.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
• Immunization record with proof of MMR and Tdap, and a declaration of having had chicken pox or vaccination.
• Police Records Check for the Vulnerable Sector within the last 6 months (new employees) or within 5 years (current employees).
