JINGBAO Bilingual Children’s Centre is a Ministry-licensed childcare centre that delivers a unique early-years Mandarin language program, including math, science and arts. JINGBAO operates in a Mandarin-English dual-language environment, serving children 18 months old to 5.5 years old.

At JINGBAO, we integrate Montessori curriculum and play-based learning, together with cultural-enriched activities to nurture each child’s all-around physical, language, cognitive and social-emotional development.

Position: Registered Early Childhood Educator

Type: Full Time, Part Time, Supply

Location: Downtown Toronto, North York, Scarborough, Mississauga, Richmond Hill

We are looking for a dynamic, caring and self-motivated registered ECE who is seeking a challenging position in a warm and professional environment. This person must be fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Engage meaningfully with children to support their physical, cognitive, emotional and social development.
  2. Maintain, clean and organize an inspirational learning environment.
  3. Plan and implement age-appropriate, child-centered activities for children, such as media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity.
  4. Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor.
  5. Model positive adult/child relationships.
  6. Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members.
  7. Ensure an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children.
  8. Promote a welcoming environment for all families and community members.
  9. Work on a rotated shift and any other shift as required.
  10. Develop and implement with your “team” individual and group curriculums for pre-school and school-age children.
  11. Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.

Qualifications:

  1. Completion of a two- to four-year college program in early childhood education or a bachelor’s degree in child development, Licensing by a provincial or territorial association for ECE.
  2. Experience in licensed childcare (preferred).
  3. Ability to successfully carry out ECE duties and any other responsibilities.
  4. Possess excellent behavior guidance skills that include positive reinforcement and redirection strategies.
  5. Skills and interests in creative art, drama, music, science, literacy and numeracy programs.
  6. Working knowledge of the City of Toronto Operating Criteria, Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen/Emergent curriculum.
  7. A clear Health and Police Reference Check is mandatory prior to employment.
  8. Hold a valid standard First Aid/CPR certificate.
