Job summary

Tropicana Community Services is hiring a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) for our McCowan and McCrae sites in Toronto. This casual role offers flexible hours ranging from 18 to 35 per week and requires delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate activities for children from 3 months to 12 years, depending on site.

You will work under supervision to ensure safety, well-being, and inclusive learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Two-year ECE diploma or degree required.
• Current registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators in good standing.
• Valid First Aid/CPR Level C certification.
• Vulnerable Sector Screening within one year of hire date.
• Ministry-required medical assessment.
• Experience delivering inclusive, culturally responsive programs is valued.

Responsibilities

• Foster partnerships with children and families in an inclusive, respectful environment.
• Conduct daily health checks and report illnesses to families.
• Demonstrate knowledge of child development theories and supportive relationships.
• Support children as capable, enthusiastic learners with diverse ages and needs.
• Assist children in developing coping skills and self-regulation.
• Use Brightwheel and other tools to share development updates with families.
• Provide safe supervision and maintain a clean, safe learning environment.
• Collaborate with the Resource Consultant and follow through on goals.
• Plan developmentally appropriate activities in weekly cycles and field trips.
