Job summary

Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) invites applications for a Clinical Dietitian at WRHA Corporate - Manitoba Clinic. The position is in-person, 1.0 FTE, with 7.5 daily hours and an anticipated start date of 2026-09-01.

Two years of clinical nutrition experience is preferred, with a Bachelor of Science in related field and accredited dietetic internship. Must be a Registered Dietitian in Manitoba with CPR per policy.

Qualifications

  • Must be a Registered Dietitian or Graduate Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba
  • DC membership preferred
  • CPR training as employer policy requires

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical nutrition therapy and evidence-based practice.
  • Counsel and educate patients and families.
  • Document clinical notes and nutrition care plans.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary health-care teams.

Position Overview
Experience
  • Two years of clinical nutrition experience preferred.
  • Specialized training or demonstrated expertise in the applicable practice area preferred.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
  • Bachelor of Science Degree, Human Nutritional Sciences, dietetic or related area from an accredited Canadian university program or the approved equivalent if internationally educated.
  • Graduate of a recognized dietetic internship program or practical training program including Master of Applied (Human) Nutrition programs, which has been accredited by the applicable certifying body required.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
  • Must be a Registered Dietitian or Graduate Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Manitoba.
  • Membership with the Dietitians of Canada (DC) is preferred.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.

  • Proficient in medical nutrition therapy and evidence-based practice with demonstrated problem solving and critical analysis skills.

  • Skilled in behavior change strategies with effective counseling skills.
  • Knowledgeable in food and nutrient analysis and computerized documentation systems.
  • Proficient in professional correspondence and clinical documentation.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and bodily fluids, toxic materials, noise, allergens, and physical or emotional stress.
  • May encounter aggressive or distressed clients or visitors.
  • May be required to travel to off-site locations.
  • May be required to occasionally work extended hours.
  • May be required to work a variety of shifts including evenings and weekends.

This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment.

Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT. The WRHA legal entity includes Churchill Health Centre, Deer Lodge Centre, Golden Door Geriatric Centre, Golden West Centennial Lodge, Grace Hospital, Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Pan Am Clinic, River Park Gardens, Victoria General Hospital, WRHA corporate programs, and WRHA community health services.

Interviewed candidates may be called upon to participate in a skills assessment.
