Trillium Health Partners is seeking a Registered Dietitian for the M Surgical - Clinical Nutrition unit at Mississauga Hospital. On-site role with rotation to cover inpatient medical-surgical units; focus on nutrition care for surgical and complex medical patients.

The candidate will provide nutrition assessment, care planning, and education, while mentoring dietetic interns and collaborating with an interprofessional team. Ontario registration and Dietitians of Canada membership are preferred.

Qualificações

• Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics; surgical experience preferred.
• Current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario is required.
• Ideally possesses membership with Dietitians of Canada.
• Clinical skills in nutritional management of medical and complex patients.
• Experienced in enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
• Reliable, flexible, self-directed team player; collaborative mindset.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Windows, REACH portal, Meditech.
• 1–2 years recent inpatient acute care experience.

Responsabilidades

• Provide quality nutrition care therapy aligned to patient diagnosis, age and status in inpatient setting.
• Perform screening, assessment, care plan development and education; support nutrition goals.
• Educate patients and families individually to support treatment plans.
• Act as mentor to dietetic interns and students; participate in interprofessional rounds.
• Contribute to care team activities and daily rounds in inpatient units.

Key Qualifications

• Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics combined with surgical experience preferred
• Current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario is required
• Ideally possesses membership with Dietitians of Canada
• Established clinical skills in nutritional management of medical and complex patients
• Experienced in the management of enteral and parenteral nutrition support
• Reliable, flexible, creative, self-directed professional, able to work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment
• Effective interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to utilize practice-based research to ensure excellence in the provision of nutritional care.
• Proficiency in computer Windows software applications, REACH portal, Meditech.
• One to two years recent experience with established clinical skills in an inpatient acute care setting

Position Summary

• Cross-training and coverage to other inpatient medical-surgical units as needed
• Provide quality nutrition care therapy in relation to the patient's diagnosis, treatment, age, and nutrition status in an inpatient setting
• Provide screening and assessment, contribute to care plan development, establish goal-oriented treatment interventions, patient/family education and provide support to address nutritional needs
• Educate patients and family members on individual basis
• Act as a coach/mentor/consultant using sound critical thinking skills to achieve patient outcomes.
• Act as a coach/mentor for dietetic interns and other students as appropriate
• participate in interprofessional care team functions, including daily rounds
