Job summary

Blanche River Health in New Liskeard is seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) to cover the Timiskaming Diabetes Education Program-South (1.0 FTE). The RD provides community nutrition assessments, diabetes self-management education, insulin management and behaviour change support to people at risk or living with diabetes in the Timiskaming district.

The role includes program development, delivery and evaluation.

Temporary Full-time (New Liskeard)

  • Signing bonus - $7,500
  • Relocation allowance – up to $3000 if relocating from outside of Northern Eastern Ontario

Job Summary

The Registered Dietitian (RD) (CDE), position that is based in New Liskeard is responsible for covering the Timiskaming Diabetes Education Program-South (1.0FTE). The RD Timiskaming Diabetes Education Program-South provides community based nutritional and health assessments, nutritional care services, diabetes self-management education, insulin management and behaviour change support for people at risk for diabetes living with type 1 and 2 diabetes and gestational diabetes in the District of Timiskaming. The RD participates in the development, delivery and evaluation of programs and services of the Timiskaming Diabetes Education Program.

Qualifications

Education:

Certifications and Registrations

  • University Degree in Nutrition and approved Dietetic Internship
  • Current registration with the College of Dietitians of Ontario in good standing
  • Certified Diabetes Educator or willingness to attain it within 2 years of hire

Skill, Ability & Experience:

  • Dynamic, self-motivated, encouraging and energetic individual.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Proficient in Meditech and/or health care software
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and vehicle
  • Bilingualism in both official languages an asset
