Skilled and Caring Registered Dietitians Needed for Community Work!

Location: Courtice, Bowmanville, Clarington, Newcastle

Schedule: 5 visits/week (potential for more)

Since 1997, Durham Region’s largest community-based rehabilitative therapy provider, Community Advantage Rehabilitation, has been offering services to help adults and children maximize their abilities and participate fully in life. Our vision is to be recognized as a trusted healthcare provider, working with clients to enhance their quality of life through best practices, innovation, and quality standards.

We are currently seeking qualified Registered Dietitians to provide community services.
RD Responsibilities:
  • Provide ministry-funded, community-based Registered Dietitian services at clients' residences
  • Conduct assessments through interviews and standardized/informal techniques
  • Develop and implement evidence-based interventions collaboratively with clients and caregivers
  • Educate clients and caregivers, linking them to community resources when appropriate
  • Maintain documentation of assessments, care plans, progress, and discharges according to CAR, referral sources, and college standards
Requirements:
  • Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of Ontario (required)
  • Experience in community settings preferred; new graduates considered
  • Pediatric experience and/or willingness to learn pediatric care
  • Ability to work independently and in an inter-professional team
  • Experience in assessment and counseling
  • Knowledge of chronic self-management principles
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers
  • Willingness to cover Courtice, Bowmanville, Clarington, Newcastle, Newtonville, and assist in other Durham Region areas as needed
  • Reliable transportation required
