Job summary

Sunset Ridge Dental in Cochrane, AB is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to support dentists and hygienists in a fast‑paced clinical environment. You will prepare rooms, take X‑rays, and handle patient education, with emphasis on sterile procedures and patient comfort.

Eligible candidates must be registered or certified as a Dental Assistant with the provincial regulator; previous dental assistant experience is preferred. Monday–Friday with some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Registered and/or Certified as a Dental Assistant with the Provincial regulatory body or association is required.
• Previous dental assisting experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials for procedures, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
• Assist dentists and hygienists during treatments, maintaining patient comfort and workflow.
• Take dental X-rays and digital images as required.
• Perform instrument sterilization and infection control following IPAC standards.
• Update patient charts and provide education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support scheduling, patient flow, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with the dental team to deliver efficient, high-quality care.
• Follow all privacy, safety, and regulatory guidelines.
• Establish strong patient relationships while maintaining ethical professional behaviour.
