Job description

As Regional Vice-President, Private Banking 1859 for National Bank in Ontario, you will be a key member of leadership in the region and contribute to National Bank’s growth strategy for Commercial and Private Banking. You will take charge of a team of high net worth client specialists, driving growth through advice, support, and specialized financial services tailored to our clients’ needs.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring maximum visibility for the Bank in the market by identifying and participating in new business development activities.
  • Developing a competent, collaborative, proactive, and motivated sales force to create a superior customer experience.
  • Ensuring consistent strong performance from your team by fostering a high-integrity, growth-oriented culture, setting performance targets, and coaching to results.
  • Supporting strategy execution and contributing to growth by leading collaboration across business lines (PB 1859, Commercial Banking, Insurance, Financial Planning, etc.) to address the full spectrum of our clients’ needs.
  • Identifying and proposing changes to improve processes and systems.
  • Monitoring emerging trends in the economy, industry, and local market to ensure the Bank’s products and services meet evolving client needs.
  • Anticipating talent needs based on organizational changes and strategic directions, and developing future talent pipelines with personalized coaching.
  • Engaging in community and social initiatives.

Your team:

Reporting to the Senior Vice-President of Commercial and Private Banking - Ontario, you will lead private banking business development in the Ontario region. Your team aims to be recognized for expertise in private banking and wealth management, providing exceptional client service.

Basic requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree related to the industry with 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Solid experience in people management.
  • Experience in sales coaching.
  • Knowledge of Private Banking 1859 sector or field.
  • Good understanding of wealth management and financial planning.
  • In-depth credit knowledge.
  • Ability to effectively use sales management tools (e.g., Salesforce, PowerBI).
  • Qualified for licensing as a discretionary Portfolio Manager under CIRO.
