About the Role:

CMLS Asset Management is looking for a Regional Vice-President, Capital Raising (Western Region) to join our growing team.

The primary objective of the national sales team is to grow our asset base by supporting our direct investor clients and our network of investment professionals as they prepare their clients for retirement and other significant life goals that demand focused financial management. The team works together to plan and execute a strategy that cultivates key relationships and effectively maximizes territory sales.

As an integral member of the sales team, you will:

  • Consistently generate and maintain a quality pipeline of transactions to meet sales and activity/engagement targets
  • Maintain and strengthen external client relationships
  • Discover and explore new business opportunities via proactive sales calls
  • Work with the Managing Director, National Accounts and Capital Raising to optimize the use and effectiveness of PM access, due diligence, conference participation and other events for the region
  • Manage investor relations; providing proactive support and services to existing supporters, investors, and prospects, responding to inquiries, and coordinating follow-up where required in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of contacts in the region, along with activity tracking of leads in the sales pipeline and CRM
  • Travel as needed to deliver sales presentations and meetings
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of our industry and competition
  • Participate in and contribute to regular team meetings and business planning sessions
  • Provide ongoing support regarding the CMLS Asset Management and CMLS Mortgage Fund brand and presence, sharing ideas and strategies designed to develop overall sales and client base
  • Coordinate and participate in corporate and social events with colleagues and industry professionals
  • Represent the Company with honesty and integrity while delivering high levels of customer service to both our external and internal partners
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of successful field sales experience or equivalent
  • Bachelor of Arts, Science or Commerce degree preferred
  • Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is required
  • Registered Dealing Representative is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to build relationships
  • Passionate, willing to put in the extra effort to achieve personal goals
  • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with limited supervision, in a fast-paced work environment
  • Driven and goal-oriented with a positive attitude
  • Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently, open to direction and a collaborative work style
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Must have the ability to remain flexible and meet deadlines under pressure with little supervision
  • Strong understanding of real estate and finance fundamentals
