Job summary

The Kativik Regional Government (KRG) is seeking a Senior Program Officer to lead training needs assessment, develop regional courses, and promote employment and training programs in Kuujjuaq. The role requires collaboration with organizations, monitoring of projects, and preparation of financial reports.

Three years of related experience and a university degree are required, with bilingual capabilities in two of Inuktitut, English, or French.

Qualifications

• University degree in a related discipline. Exceptional relevant work experience will also be considered.
• Minimum of three years of related experience (social and economic development, training experiences, project management, etc.).
• Good working knowledge of criteria and management of all federal and provincial employment programs.
• Written and oral working knowledge of at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English and French.
• Ability to work in a computerized environment.

Responsibilities

• Estimate training needs in the region and develop activities and training courses to meet those needs.
• Promote training programs in the region, work with concerned organizations, and help employers develop their project and training plans.
• Assess and recommend pertinent projects and training courses, monitor activities and financial aspects, and evaluate results.
• Stay informed about employment and training programs and transmit information to involved employees.
• Prepare various reports and financial statements during the year and for the annual report.
• Perform other related duties as required by supervisors.
