Regional Sales Manager - Municipal

Responsibilities
Under the responsibility of the VP Business Development – municipal Canada, the incumbent is directly involved in the sales activities in the municipal sector for drinking water, wastewater and process technology solutions in Ontario and Manitoba. The person will work closely with stakeholders (consulting engineers, municipalities, industries, contractors, etc.) with specific emphasis on projects in the municipal market.
- Promote all Veolia Water Technologies Inc. solutions and equipment in the municipal market;
- Promote Veolia products with emphasis on process projects as well as pretreatment and dosing applications (ex. Hydrapol);
- Participate in all business development activities (congress, conferences, etc.);
- Manage all sales activities within the territory. Develop and maintain good business relationships with customers at different levels and with strategic suppliers/partners;
- Collaborate with the Director to develop the overall commercial development strategy of the company in the territory, the projects' commercial/tendering strategy and the company positioning;
- Actively follow up on bids to maximize the chances of converting bids into orders;
- Work with other commercial departments to identify and develop opportunities, including with the Operation & Maintenance Division;
- Update sales database (SalesForce), prepare sales forecasts, and stay informed about key projects and accounts;
- Inform the Director of all activities, opportunities, issues and project deadlines;
- Maintain knowledge of the market in the territory, including the First-Nations market; understand the condition of existing plants and potential projects (upgrades, capacity increases, etc.);
- Analyze and communicate market information (competition, qualitative and quantitative market analysis).
Qualifications
- College diploma or bachelor’s degree related to the job requirements;
- A minimum of ten years of experience in water treatment sales;
- Knowledge of the municipal environment;
- Knowledge of water treatment processes;
- Knowledge of CRM computer systems;
- Must have a valid driver’s licence;
- Proven sales competencies (hunting, managing accounts, building relationships with clients, etc.);
- Curious and interested in exploring opportunities;
- Good negotiator;
- Exemplary communication skills (oral and written) in English. Comfortable presenting to groups of various sizes;
- Ability to develop and present technical reports, proposals and Google Slides documents;
- Self-sufficient with good organization and planning of work (rigor and method);
- Collaborative and exemplary in working with peers.
