Overview

Job Description

The Regional Sales Manager owns all sales activities within the defined region of responsibility and is the key to developing, strengthening and maintaining customer relationships. This includes holding face-to-face customer interactions, facilitating lunch and learns, resolving customer service issues, following up on quotation activities, as well as using understanding of the customer applications and requirements. Reporting to the President & CEO, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for selling the full range of products to achieve targets in their region and carrying out business plans in line with corporate strategy. The role interacts with and supports the sales channel operating within the region and liaises with internal team members to pursue customer service excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Customer Service Excellence: Communicate directly and proactively with customers and partners.
  • Sales activities: Cold call, prospect and qualify companies within the defined region.
  • Track all customer communications in the CRM program.
  • Organize Lunch and Learns as required and attend customer visits scheduled by the sales channel.
  • Follow up on all quotations over $10,000 CAD directly or in collaboration with the sales channel.
  • Attend webinars, meetings and training; complete expense claims monthly.
  • Collaborate with sales channel partners to enhance regional coverage and plan territory coverage efficiently.
  • Provide technical support with documentation, drawings, customer training, site visits and demonstrations.
  • Adhere to OHSA, company policies and safety practices; comply with SAMSON quality standards.
  • Participate in all required training and perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in Industrial or Process Automation sales (2+ years).
  • Prior experience with cold calling and prospecting (2+ years).
  • Experience managing sales cycles between 6 weeks and 2 years.
  • Experience managing a defined region and using a CRM for all customer interactions.
  • Energetic self-starter with the ability to achieve challenging objectives and think creatively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in English; French is an asset; strong report writing skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation, problem-solving skills and adaptability to manage conflicts and change.
  • Detail-oriented with analytical ability and innovative problem-solving.
  • Strong presentation skills and MS Office proficiency; ability to work in a team.
  • Strong organizational skills to handle occasional heavy workloads and multitask.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma or equivalent experience.
Work Environment and Logistics

Description of work environment: Home office, office, and visits to customer operations or production facilities.

Amount of Travel: 30-50% day trips away from the office within Canada; 20-30% overnight trips within Canada.

Work Schedule: 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, hours may vary based on sales activities.
