The Regional Safety Advisor's primary responsibility is to lead the implementation of Rogers safety programs in the region and support frontline operations. Additionally, the Advisor will act as a source of guidance and information for Safety Committees, Human Resources, and Operations.

What you'll do:

  • Facilitate safety committee functions and responsibilities.
  • Provide expertise to managers and employees on the identification and control of hazards.
  • Support Operations and Safety Managers in planning, developing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on safety programs.
  • Lead and guide the reporting, investigation, closure and tracking of workplace incidents in the region.
  • Maintain expertise in safety legislation and best practices, and understand their impact on operations.

What you'll have:

  • University degree, preferably in Occupational Health and Safety;
  • Minimum 5-7 years safety experience;
  • Possession of, or working towards, Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation;
  • Experience in providing technical safety support to field operations;
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry is an asset;
  • Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills;
  • Proven ability to work independently, use critical thinking, take initiative and be resourceful;
  • Strong ability to engage leaders and drive the implementation of policies and programs;
  • Demonstrated communication skills and ability to effectively deal with all levels in an organization;
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Windows applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint;
  • Ability to travel within the region;
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, and reliable access to a personal vehicle.
