BITCO Corporation , headquartered in Davenport, Iowa, is seeking a Regional Risk Control Manager for our Central Region . BITCO provides quality property and casualty insurance services to specialized industries including construction, forest products and oil & gas. This position can be remote within the states of TX, OK, AR, LA or work within one of our southern Central Region Branch Offices (Dallas, San Antonio, or Little Rock). Regular overnight travel to customer sites and all Central Region offices is required.
Position Summary
The Regional Risk Control Manager provides strategic leadership and direction for risk control operations within the assigned region, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and performance objectives. Key responsibilities include managing workload distribution, leading training and development efforts, and ensuring that risk control consultants consistently deliver high-quality service across their designated territories.
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervision and Leadership
- Provide direction, supervision, and support to assigned employees and territory operations, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely, and consistent service to BITCO customers.
- Oversee work assignment and distribution, deliver ongoing feedback and training, conduct performance evaluations, and mentor team members to support professional growth and team effectiveness.
- Represent management by actively promoting BITCO’s mission, values, and culture through Strong leadership and clear, consistent communication
- Operational Oversight & Strategic Support
- Maintain current department procedures and collaborate with leadership and field team to improve processes and resolve personnel or operational issues with our business partners
- Interpret and communicate technical risk control information to underwriters and contribute to special projects or assignments as directed by the SVP, Risk Control
- Leverage technology, analytics, and business intelligence reporting to provide service metrics transparency and visibility across the organization.
- Service Delivery & Technical Expertise
- Perform or oversee complex or high-sensitivity risk control services, including for large or multi-location accounts and high-end prospects
- Manage personal schedule and travel within the assigned region to effectively balance team leadership, supervisory responsibilities, and service needs of business partners.
- Conduct safety training sessions and participate in customer meetings as needed to support service delivery and client engagement.
- Collaboration & Relationship Management
- Collaborate with Underwriters, Underwriting Managers & Segment Leaders to ensure risk control services align with underwriting strategies and goals
- Participate in regional and company-wide risk control and underwriting meetings, including presenting on assigned topics
- Foster new business development by cultivating strong relationships with agency partners and customers.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Provide insight into industry best practices and competitor strategies to drive continuous improvement in BITCO’s risk control department
- Lead and support the onboarding, mentoring, and development of new and current consultants while also offering coverage support for team members as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Safety & Risk Management or related field preferred10+ years of experience as a Risk Control Consultant / Loss Control Consultant with experience in the areas of Commercial Construction; Forestry; Public Entities; or Oil and Gas.5+ Years of prior supervisory or management experience is requiredHigh acumen with business computer applications including, Risk Control Technologies, Power BI, and MS Office products and other industry platforms. This would include virtual meeting and conferencing applications.Developed problem-solving, critical thinking, analytical, and decision-making skills, including the ability to deal with ambiguity.Proven ability to mentor, train, and convey knowledge to othersExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal and external customers and communicate complex technical subjects effectively.Strong organizational skills, including ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.Professional safety certifications such as (CSP, ARM, or other) preferred; or willingness to obtainGeneral knowledge of safety and risk management practices and principles, including regulatory (Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and national consensus standards (NFPA, etc.) preferred.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentialityWork Environment & Physical Requirements
Must be legally authorized to work in the United StatesAbility to routinely bend, kneel, reach, climb, and walk around to evaluate customer job sites and machineryThis position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, as directed by managerOccasionally lift and carry equipment and / or materials weighing up to 50 poundsMust be able to attend and perform job duties effectively both in-person and virtually, as required by managerTravel – overnight travel is required; must have a valid driver's license with acceptable motor vehicle reportBenefits
