Position Overview:

Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for operational efficiency and customer service?

As a Regional Repair Planner, you’ll play a critical role in directing and prioritizing equipment repair work across Finning’s operations network. Acting as the key liaison between Product Support Sales Representatives (PSSRs), operations teams, and service facilities, you’ll ensure that repairs are routed to the right place at the right time—balancing safety, profitability, and efficiency. You’ll also help standardize repair processes, optimize labor and asset utilization, and support long-term planning through data-driven insights and collaboration.

Job Description:

  • Route repair work to the most suitable facility based on capability, capacity, and governance models.
  • Develop and maintain standardized repair scopes to ensure consistency and repeatability across the network.
  • Facilitate temp transfer programs and movement of labor resources through travel administration within the region.
  • Collaborate with PSSRs to understand customer needs and support preliminary estimates and repair planning.
  • Monitor facility throughput and backlog, identifying and resolving constraints such as tooling, parts, or labor.
  • Participate in daily scheduling meetings and consolidate regional activities into a master schedule.
  • Ensure continuous workflow into each facility to optimize labor and asset utilization.
  • Coordinate multi-facility repairs to improve repair velocity and meet customer timelines.
  • Support logistics coordination for equipment and component movement across the network.
  • Track and report on repair progression, backlog, and throughput to support operational planning.
  • Ensure timely completion of Service Letters (priority, safety, and containment) within the assigned region.
  • Provide insights and reporting for Service Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) sessions.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps and recommending efficiency enhancements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Caterpillar product groups and dealership operations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of equipment, components and machine systems; Journeyperson certification is an asset.
  • Proven ability to use tools such as M3, Smartsheet, databases, and flowcharting software.
  • Previous experience in equipment operations, product support, or service planning.
  • Strong understanding of Finning processes, Caterpillar systems, and network governance.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Highly organized with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.

  • This position is based out of our Fort McKay or Mildred Lake office location.
  • Permanent, full-time role.
