Position Summary

The Regional Quality Assurance Lead supports the East Ontario region by promoting public safety and ensuring compliance with the TSSA Act. Responsibilities include participating in ASME and CSA audits, preparing certificate holders for audits, performing compliance audits, and raising safety awareness regarding Boilers and Pressure Vessels to ensure adherence to relevant standards and regulations.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Ensure regulations are followed, including directing owners, operators, or the public to resolve non-compliance issues, including the ability to cease operation of boiler or pressure vessel equipment.
  2. Perform duties as per TSSA Quality Assurance Program at shops and field sites to ensure compliance with the TSSA Act, regulations, codes, and standards.
  3. Conduct Contractor Audit inspections following established procedures.
  4. Identify appropriate actions, provide feedback, and issue legal orders when necessary.
  5. Review incidents, equipment failures, and respond to public inquiries about unsafe conditions.
  6. Analyze patterns of non-compliance, assist in investigations, and provide expert testimony.
  7. Conduct BPV inspections, incident investigations, and recommend measures to prevent re-occurrence.
  8. Complete reports accurately within established timeframes and maintain records.
  9. Input data into TSSA systems accurately to support risk modeling.
  10. Maintain positive relationships by providing timely information, education, and adhering to ethical practices.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Ontario Certificate of Competency with relevant endorsements.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the Boilers and Pressure Vessel industry.
  • Valid “G” license for daily travel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards, codes, and legislation.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding environments and in confined spaces.
