Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Regional Licensed Pharmacist to float between all locations based on the business demands of the organization. The locations are NOT retail pharmacies. This is a full time, permanent role, where you will be working Monday to Friday, on a regular day shift, during business hours.

Each location is unique in itself with a few locations offering reimbursement programs, other locations providing sterile compounding and wholesale distribution, and another location providing medical device distribution. With a multidisciplinary practice, the Pharmacist coming into this new role will have the opportunity to learn new things, while ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of a vast array of pharmaceutical services.

Position Description

As the Regional Pharmacist you will be working out of five different locations, each providing a different pharmaceutical / healthcare service to ensure patients are receiving quality care. Some locations will require your attendance only once a month, but other locations require more regular involvement as they are extremely busy, structured operations that require signing authority on a regular basis. In this role, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to :

  • Interacting with patients, healthcare professionals and other staff to offer expert advice, address inquiries and ensure exceptional customer service to patients that require accessibility to high-cost drugs, medications that may not be readily accessible, or complex specialty medications
  • Monitoring the Cold-Chain pharmaceutical operations. Troubleshooting any discrepancies and compiling corrective action plans.
  • Collaborating with physicians and healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and monitoring of potential drug interactions
  • Overseeing the quality assurance in all facilities while on-site, to ensure adherence to established pharmacy protocols, quality control standards and regulatory requirements to ensure the highest level of patient safety and service
  • Online / over the phone medication counseling when required

Experience

3+ years’ experience as a practicing pharmacist.

Qualifications

A valid license as a Pharmacist in good standing with the college of Pharmacy in Ontario.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BScPhm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
  • A licensed Pharmacist in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacy
