Job summary

Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) seeks a Nurse Regional Practice Resource to provide regional nursing expertise across clinical nursing, NSWOC, or case management portfolios. The role supports service areas, develops guidelines, and leads staff development in line with TRC commitments.

Travel between multiple sites is required; extensive collaboration with interdisciplinary teams ensures high-quality patient care, safety, and continuous improvement across home support nursing

Qualifications

Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
NSWOC certification or equivalent for wounds/ostomy/continence specialization.
Post-secondary courses in adult education, process improvement or change management.
Three or more years of direct experience in adult education, quality improvement and/or policy development.
Experience with Indigenous groups and Truth and Reconciliation actions.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and standards.
Knowledge of gerontological issues and standards.
Valid BC Driver''s License.
Equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

Provide regional nursing expertise across specified portfolios.
Develop, implement and evaluate guidelines and resources for professional standards.
Collaborate with other disciplines to support staff development and education.
Support quality improvement initiatives and accreditation efforts.
Uphold Truth and Reconciliation commitments in Canada and drive reconciliation actions.
