Description
The Regional Director is responsible for the strategic development and overall leadership of a Regional Global Practice. This position will be responsible for the growth of Global Practice market segments in a profitable manner. The Regional Director will lead the business line in a dynamic and profitable manner based on Burns & McDonnell's core values of client satisfaction, commitment, dedication, integrity, safety and overall outstanding service.
- Responsible for the sales, revenue and profitability goals for the Region. Achieves stated targets and reports on performance monthly.
- Develops a long-term strategic plan. Identifies, develops and directs the implementation of growth and business strategies for the Global practice, including operational strategies and procedures, marketing strategies and pricing strategies, risk identification and mitigation, and sales and customer retention strategies. Provides industry expertise with respect to the competition.
- Develops regional business plan and Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) including initiative identification and management.
- Provides local leadership for Regional staff. Responsible for resource coordination across the region. Coordinates with other regional offices for effective allocation and utilization of resources.
- Recruits, hires, develops and retains outstanding employee-owners.
- Responsible for conducting performance evaluation for selected department or direct reports.
- Executes projects and programs by meeting or exceeding client expectations for quality, schedule and budget.
- Responsible for initiation and adherence to internal governance processes including : Go / No Go, Proposal Gates, Risk Reviews etc.
- Initiates and directs proposal development and contract negotiations; responsible for coordinating project planning including scoping, budgeting, maintaining schedules, communicating and managing deadlines and establishing and performing to critical project objectives.
- Responsible for client management, engagement and customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for employee engagement and nurturing of the Burns & McDonnell culture in the Region.
- Champion of 'Live Safer' and ensures compliance with safety standards, safety policies and safety programs.
- Adheres to Burns & McDonnell's Quality Control program.
- Responsible to collaborate and coordinate across GP's for cross-selling opportunities in the Region.
- Builds relationships with other Regional Offices and Global Practices.
- Drives innovation and the identification and implementation of business improvement initiatives.
- All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business or related degree from an accredited program. A minimum of 13 years relevant experience, preferably in the consulting engineering industry or project management.
- Expert experience in client and business development.
- Expert experience in managing projects, which includes proposal development, contract negotiations, project planning, design team coordination & communication, budgeting, schedule management, and client coordination.
- Expert facilitation, collaboration, organization, and problem solving skills.
- Demonstrated success as to budget, savings and / or profit margins in completed projects.
- Ability to thoughtfully and positively influence, lead and manage.
- Excellent planning and analytical skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels of employees, management, and clients.
- Expert knowledge of project management methodologies and tools.
