Qualifications

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in Hospitality and Food within senior living.
  • Degree in Nutrition or membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition Management.

Job summary

Regional Director of Hospitality and Food

Schlegel Villages Support Office is located in Kitchener, Ontario. This role provides support to Villages located throughout southern Ontario, and geographical home base of candidates is flexible but regular travel will be expected.

Temporary Role for parental leave.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Have a degree in Nutrition and/or membership in Canadian Society of Nutrition Management
  • Red Seal Chef certification and/or a degree in Hospitality would be considered an asset
  • Be an experienced Hospitality and Food leader with proven leadership experience within a senior living setting for a minimum of 5 years
  • Demonstrate a passion for continually improving the dining experience while following the requirements of LTC and RHA Acts
  • Be extremely competent in working within dietary technology programs – eg. Meal-suite, Point Click Care
  • Be excited to broaden your skills, knowledge and experience across our full continuum of mealtime experiences including but not limited to all Dining Rooms, Cafes, The Ruby, Catering, Special Events and Community Meal Support
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a high volume of competing priorities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other department leaders and team members at all levels of the organization to create a team-oriented environment
  • Be a passionate servant leader who excels at growing and developing people as well as teams through strengths-based leadership by identifying and using each person’s unique strengths to build trust, show compassion, provide stability, and create hope

It would be considered an asset if you also had the ability to:

  • Support applied research projects and the knowledge mobilization and implementation in partnership with the Research Institute of Aging (RIA)
