Regional Director, Commercial Construction & Development

Acadian Construction is seeking a strategic and experienced Regional Director to lead our expansion in Halifax, focusing on commercial construction delivery and market development. This role offers a unique opportunity for a construction leader who thrives in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment and is eager to build a region, team, and reputation from the ground up.

As the senior-most leader in Halifax, you will be responsible for regional strategy, operational oversight, and building high-trust relationships with clients, partners, and the local industry. You will work closely with the Business Development Manager, who reports to you and supports client engagement and lead generation. Together, you will drive regional growth while maintaining excellence in project execution. This position requires proven experience in managing people, teams, and performance.

Responsibilities
  1. Strategic Leadership & Market Positioning
    • Set and execute the Halifax market growth strategy, aligning with broader business objectives.
    • Represent Acadian in high-level client conversations, industry associations, and public forums.
    • Collaborate with the Business Development Manager to prioritize pursuits, shape messaging, and guide relationship strategies.
  2. Construction & Operations Oversight
    • Act as the regional authority on construction feasibility, pre-construction strategy, and client onboarding.
    • Support project delivery from early planning through turnover, working with Moncton-based teams.
    • Ensure local projects meet high standards of quality, service, and communication.
  3. Regional Team Building
    • Identify talent needs, support recruitment, and foster a strong local culture.
    • Lead and manage the performance of the Business Development Manager and future local staff, ensuring accountability and growth.
