Fundamental to the Eight (8) Pillars of MKO’s Whole of Government Response – Elements and Roles, the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan (CSWBP) initiative plays a crucial role in identifying a community safety & well-being vision for four (4) Northern First Nations. Each individual Nation CSWBP will overall align with MKO’s Indigenous Justice Strategy.

Reporting to the MKO Community Safety Coordinator, the Regional Community Engagement Facilitator will develop, operationalize, monitor, and evaluate a Community Safety and Well-Being Plan (CSWBP) for selected First Nations within the MKO Nation.

Role and Responsibilities
• Work under the supervision of the MKO Community Safety Coordinator or designate.
• Manage the development of the Community Safety and Well-Being plan for each respected MKO community assigned.
• Communicate and collaborate with local key stakeholders.
• Develop a multi-sectoral advisory committee in each respective MKO community assigned.
• Develop CSWB assessments through data collection.
• Consult with local stakeholders and community to determine local priorities, identifying existing services and resources.
• Identify strategies, actions and evaluation framework.
• Address issues and priorities through local programs and services with ongoing communication with stakeholders.
• Monitor progress and effectiveness of CSWB Plan.
• Comply with all policies and procedures, by-laws and directives from each respective MKO community assigned.
• Participate in staff meetings and other internal meetings as requested.
• Enhance professional development through attendance at professional development courses/workshops, evaluate content and share results (learning). Learn new office technology when introduced and implement new systems and procedures, as necessary.
• Adhere to MKO policies, procedures and protocols.
• Ability to work independently.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
• Knowledge of Justice and Policing Issues relating to Indigenous People.
• Knowledge and understanding of First Nation procedures, protocols, and roles.
• Ability to cultivate, promote and maintain strong and positive relationships.
• Ability to engage community members, agencies, organizations, partners, and community stakeholders.
• Experience in project development, coordination, operationalization, and evaluation.
• Experience in monitoring and tracking project activities, outcomes, and reporting.
• Experience in leading and supervising teams and staff, including organizing and monitoring work responsibilities. Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
• Ability to develop and facilitate presentations, and awareness sessions.
• Experience in conducting research and analysis.
• Willingness to travel to meetings and conferences as required.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Possess a valid Class 5F Manitoba driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle.
• Proficient computer skills and the ability to use Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Produce a satisfactory criminal record, child and adult abuse registry and vulnerable sector checks.

Salary is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
