Job summary

BDC is seeking a Regional Coach to provide tailored coaching to a select group of employees in business development. You will support new hires and existing staff, driving initiatives, skill development, and performance improvements across the region.

You will collaborate with Learning, regional strategy, and coaching peers to deliver cohorts, training, and feedback. Travel within the region is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance, business administration or equivalent.
  • Five years of experience in a business development role within BDC.
  • Excellent track record and proven success in business development.
  • Experience as an integration coach.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Collaborative Tools.
  • Proven track record of providing impactful coaching, focused on skill development.
  • Self-motivated; strong peer collaborators; good diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to adapt coaching style to best support the employees being coached.
  • Good facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Bilingualism (French and English).

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual coaching, feedback and action plan follow-up with new or existing employees in a business development role.
  • In collaboration with the Learning Team, deliver group cohort classes for employees based on need.
  • Train business development cohorts for common learning topics (CLICs, marketing tools, BDC policies, business, credit guidelines, segmentation).
  • Collaborate with business center managers to align management and training plans.
  • Support integration coaches in the region with training resources for high-quality coaching.
  • Keep track of coaching needs for the region to ensure proper mix of local coaches.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Regional Coach provides tailored and specific coaching to a select group of employees to enhance their business development banker skills. Depending on the priorities of the region, his or her efforts may be geared towards new hires or existing employees to support new initiatives or specific skill development or to accompany high-potential individuals in reaching their next step.

CHALLENGES TO BE MET
  • Provide individual coaching, feedback and action plan follow-up with new or existing employees in a business development role.

  • In collaboration with the Learning Team, deliver, when required, a group cohort class for employees based on need (new hires or existing employees) for new initiatives or specific skill development.

  • Work closely with members of the regional strategy implementation team and the Learning Specialists to train business development cohorts for common learning topics (CLICs, marketing tools, BDC policies, business, credit guidelines, segmentation, etc.).

  • Collaborate with business center managers by providing feedback as part of the ongoing integration and development of employees to ensure alignment of management and/or tracking of training plans.

  • Provide support to the integration coaches in the region to ensure they possess the right training and resources to give high quality of coaching to employees.

  • Keep track of the coaching needs for the region to ensure there are sufficient and the right mix of local coaches.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKNG FOR
  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce, finance, business administration or equivalent

  • Five years of experience in a business development role within BDC

  • Excellent track record and proven success in business development

  • Experience as an integration coach

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Collaborative Tools

  • Proven track record of providing impactful coaching, focused on skill development

  • Self-motivated; strong peer collaborators; good diagnostic skills

  • Ability to adapt coaching style to best support the employees being coached

IMPORTANT: The selected individual will be able to work from their current location, but will need to travel across the region on occasion.
