Job summary

Southlake Health seeks a Director, Central Region Cancer Programs in Newmarket, ON. The role provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Central Region Cancer Program and the Southlake Regional Cancer Centre, working with physician leaders and interprofessional teams to advance care.

This position emphasizes collaboration with regional partners, budget and resource management, quality improvement, and education to deliver exceptional patient outcomes and experiences.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in health-related discipline is required.
• Masters degree in Business Administration or Health Care Administration is strongly preferred.
• Minimum five years of recent experience in related clinical and administrative areas is preferred.
• Minimum one year cancer program or cancer center experience at manager/director level is preferred.
• Proven oversight and administrative experience with a Regional Cancer Centre is highly valued.
• Envisioning new concepts, methods and plans is important for this role.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Analytical ability and problem solving, including root cause analysis, are required.
• Budgetary experience and expertise are essential for program leadership.
• Strong leadership, decision-making and organizational skills are necessary.
• Innovative mindset and willingness to learn are important.
• Commitment to customer service and teamwork is expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Regional Cancer Program and the Southlake Regional Cancer Centre.
• Collaborate with Executive Leadership Team, Physician Leaders, Clinical Chiefs, and interprofessional teams.
• Develop and implement the Cancer Program annual operating plan with resource planning.
• Lead continuous improvement, change management, and evidence-based practices.
• Foster integration and collaboration with regional partners to coordinate cancer services.
• Advance regional cancer initiatives and partnerships with Ontario Health and other stakeholders.
• Ensure patient- and family-centred care is embedded in all program decisions.
• Lead development of program goals, priorities, and actionable plans with accountability for outcomes.
• Oversee budget, human resources, capital, and technology needs to meet program objectives.
• Promote a culture of accountability, wellness, and professional development.
