In this role, you will guide managers, supervisors, and employees on HR policies and procedures across our First Student and First Transit locations. You will resolve employee issues, provide feedback, inform the Director of Human Resources about employee morale, and suggest solutions. You will review staffing levels, implement recruiting strategies, and make recommendations for planning and development. You will also assist with employment, training, employee relations, labor relations, and compensation within the region.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain effective employee and labor relations within the assigned area.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of HR policies operation within the region.
  • Protect the interests of employees and the company in accordance with HR policies and legal regulations.
  • Make recommendations on planning and development.
  • Provide leadership and guidance on dispute resolution, labor contract administration, employee handbook, and policy compliance.
  • Conduct training programs on performance appraisals, interviewing, employee relations, and employment law.
  • Oversee program implementation and monitor results.
  • Visit locations periodically and as needed.
  • Act as recruiting coordinator for the region.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of diverse HR experience, including recruiting, employment, compensation, organizational planning, employee and labor relations, and training.
  • Strong administrative, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to be tactful, mature, flexible, and computer literate.
  • Multi-facility experience preferred.
