Summary

Maintains, repairs, rebuilds, and adjusts refrigeration, boiler, and compressed air equipment. Analyzes, calibrates, replaces, repairs, or rebuilds machinery within guidelines. Must have personal tools and the ability to learn to operate hand tools and industrial equipment. Must work swing shifts.

Schedule

Thursday-Saturday and every other Wednesday, 6:00am-6:00pm

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Pass physical, pulmonary test, SCBA fit test, and meet HAZMAT Team Member requirements annually.
• Use personal protective equipment properly per policies and requirements.
• Comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Operate and safely isolate all refrigeration systems, perform startups, shutdowns, defrosts, and control system functions.
• Perform operational procedures like rounds, oil draining, and logging.
• Proficient with departmental computers and software.
• Perform emergency shutdowns, resets, and system restorations.
• Train on all refrigeration SOPs and understand pressure-temperature relationships and heat transfer in systems.
• Perform PM procedures and maintenance on compressors, pumps, and controls.
• Perform safety programs such as Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, and Confined Space entry.
• Direct and train operators, perform other tasks as assigned, and meet Senior Technician requirements for promotion.

Minimum Education

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience Requirements

• 2-4 years in maintenance, with skills in reading gauges, micrometers, and experience with ammonia or Freon refrigeration, boilers, and compressed air systems.

Preferred Experience

• Reading and analytical skills, certifications like CARO and/or CIRO preferred.

Environmental and Physical Factors

• Work involves wet floors, variable temperatures, noise, dust, chemicals, and physical tasks like lifting up to 50 lbs, reaching, and bending.
